Qui-Gon Jinn is a prominent Jedi Master in the Star Wars universe, first appearing in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. A wise and often rebellious figure within the Jedi Order, he is known for his independent thinking and strong connection to the Living Force.
Qui-Gon discovered Anakin Skywalker on Tatooine, recognizing the boy's immense Force potential and believing him to be the Chosen One destined to bring balance to the Force. He defied the Jedi Council's initial reluctance and took Anakin as his Padawan learner.
During the Trade Federation blockade of Naboo, Qui-Gon and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, were instrumental in protecting Queen Amidala and uncovering the Sith Lord Darth Maul. Qui-Gon was tragically killed in a lightsaber duel with Maul, but his sacrifice allowed Obi-Wan to defeat the Sith and continue training Anakin.
